Biking Andalucia - the best mountain biking in Spain

A Typical Week's Mountain Biking Itinerary

A typical week's cycling itinerary normally runs from Saturday to Saturday. However, we aim to be flexible, so it is possible to start and finnish on any day of the week.

A typical week's itinerary could include the following:

Day One Transfer from Málaga airport to Órgiva. Introduction and short warm up ride.
Day Two Briefing and circular excursion from Órgiva.
Day Three Las Guajares excursion.
Day Four Circular excursion from Órgiva.
Day Three and Four Two day excursion to Refugio Poquerio at 2,500 metres below Mulahacen.
Day Five Trevelez - Long downhill starting in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Day Six Day off to relax - Market day in Órgiva.
Day Seven Circular excursion from Órgiva.
Day Eight Transfer from Órgiva to Málaga Airport.

The week's itinerary does not include flights, airport transfers, insurance, lunches or evening meals. A packed lunch is provided, when required.

The above itinerary should only be taken as a general guide. A variety of factors, such as adverse weather conditions, could lead to enforced changes.

Most importantly, we will attempt to tailor the itinerary to meet the
requirements, abilities and preferences of the group.

Routes

Our routes can also be tailored to suit the requirements of the group, from the gentle gradients of the barranco's to 2,000 metre climb and descents into the Sierra Nevada. We can organise a trip over the Pico Veleta pass at 3,400 metres.

The emphasis is more on exploration of this part of the Alpujarras, away from traffic, rather than technical mountain biking, although we can make the routes as easy or difficult as you like. You can hire our bikes, or bring and use your own. The area is also perfect for road cycling.

See the Off Road Ride profiles page for details of some possible routes.

Overnight Excursions

We can arrange excursions including an overnight stay. Options include an overnight stay at the Poqueira Refugio, involving a climb to 2800 metres.

Down Hill Mountain Biking

We can arrange to take you high up in the Sierra Nevada, or Sierra de la Contraviesa in our transport, leaving you free to enjoy the exhilarating down hill return to Orgiva.

Costs

Cost is £220 (345€) for the week, which includes guiding for the week and all transfers, accommodation (including 2 nights at the Refugio), breakfast and a packed lunch when required. Costs £100 (140 Euros) per person per week for non cycling partners.

The programme does not include flights, airport transfers, insurance, lunches or evening meals.

See the Costs and Bookings pages for full details.
